How to Make Casio Play Bass Notes

    Setting the Rhythm

    • 1). Choose a rhythm you wish to play from the "Rhythm" section on the keyboard and press the "Rhythm" button.

    • 2). Type in the two-digit number associated with your preferred rhythm using the number buttons. These number buttons are likely to be on the right side of the synthesizer.

    • 3). Select the "Auto Accompaniment" function by setting the "Mode" switch to either "Casio Chord," "Fingered" or "Full-Range Chord." Casio Chord enables you to play a whole chord using just one key, while the "Fingered" and "Full Range Chord" functions require you to play most main components of a musical chord to produce the desired sound.

    Limited-Range Chord Mode

    • 1). Set the "Mode" switch to "Casio Chord."

    • 2). Press the "Start/Stop" button to begin playing your previously selected automatic rhythm.

    • 3). Play a minor, major, seventh or minor seventh chord on the Accompaniment Keyboard (18 keys to the furthest left of the keyboard). Each chord you play will then automatically include the bass notes. To play a major chord, hold down a single key. To play a minor chord, hold down a single key (the major chord key) plus any other key on the Accompaniment Keyboard that is to the right of the major chord key.

To play a seventh chord, hold down the major chord key and any other two keys on the Accompaniment Keyboard that are to the right of the major chord key. To play a minor seventh chord, hold down the major chord key and any other three keys on the Accompaniment Keyboard that are to the right of the major chord key.

    Fingered Mode

    • 1). Set the "Mode" switch to "Fingered."

    • 2). Press the "Start/Stop" button to begin playing your previously selected automatic rhythm.

    • 3). Hold down at least two keys that form part of a musical chord on the Accompaniment Keyboard. The chord you play will then automatically include the bass notes, with the lowest key you play becoming the chord's root note. Some knowledge of how to form a musical chord is required to create the desired sounds.

    Full-Range Chord Mode

    • 1). Set the "Mode" switch to "Full-Range Chord."

    • 2). Press the "Start/Stop" button to begin playing your previously selected automatic rhythm.

    • 3). Hold down at least three keys that form part of a musical chord anywhere on the full keyboard. Casio keyboards will interpret these notes as a specific chord, and the chord will then automatically include the bass notes. If at least two keys you are playing are separated by six or more notes, the lowest note will become the bass. A developed knowledge of how to form a musical chord is required to create the desired sounds.
