How to Charge a New RC Car Battery Pack

    • 1). Plug the electric battery charger into a 110 volt power outlet. Place the charger on a shelf or in a corner, so that it is not tripped over.

    • 2). Plug the new battery into the charger. The plugs should snap into each other with ease.

    • 3). Select the "discharge" option on the charger. Discharge the battery until the charger's timer sounds off. Discharging the battery will cause all of the power in the battery to drain out.

    • 4). Select the "charge" option on the charger and then select what type of battery is being charged. The battery will either be a NiCd or NiMh, so it is important that the correct battery is selected for the charging process.

    • 5). Start the charging process by hitting the start button on the charger. Allow the battery to fully charge, which could take up to thirty minutes.

    • 6). Remove the battery from the charger once the alarm sounds. Let the battery cool down for about five minutes before using it to power the remote control car.
