Instant noodles are the convenience food and a very delicious food which are of low cost. It is a food which is mostly consumed by the college students and young one's or those who needs a food in hurry. Instant noodles are highly processed food which has a very low nutritive value. Though everyone knows instant noodles is a junk food which you don't consider for the healthy food, you may think that they are not that bad. But it is really bad for your health that it may increase people's risk of metabolic changes linked to heart disease and stroke, which recently new research finds. High sodium consumption is linked to stroke or kidney damage. Every single serving of instant noodle is high in carbohydrates, sodium and other food additives including the toxic preservative tertiary-butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ) and MSG, but low on essential elements such as fibre, vitamins and minerals.
TBHQ, is a byproduct of the petroleum industry, which is often listed as an "antioxidant," but it's important to realize that it is a synthetic chemical with antioxidant properties– not a natural antioxidant. The chemical prevents oxidation of fats and oils, thereby extending the shelf life of processed foods. Exposure to just one gram of TBHQ can cause:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
- Sense of suffocation
The monosodium glutamate (MSG) in instant noodles is reason enough to avoid them. MSG is an excitotoxin, which means it overexcites your nerve cells to the point of damage or death, causing brain dysfunction and damage to varying degrees -- and potentially even triggering or worsening learning disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Lou Gehrig's disease, and more.
Part of the problem is that free glutamic acid (MSG is approximately 78 percent free glutamic acid) is the same neurotransmitter that your brain, nervous system, eyes, pancrease, and other organs use to initiate certain processes in your body. Yes, MSG is the perfect obesity drug. If you want to achieve your ideal body weight and health, avoid MSG at all costs.
A new study published earlier in August in the Journal of Nutrition has found that consumption of instant noodles two or more times a week was associated with a higher prevalence of metabolic syndrome in women but not in men. Metabolic syndrome is set of conditions – including high blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess abdominal fat and abnormal cholesterol -- which combined increase the risk for heart disease, stroke and diabetes.
"This research is significant since many people are consuming instant noodles without knowing possible health risks," one researcher said. "My hope is that this study can lay a foundation for future research about the health effects of instant noodle consumption."
The instant-noodle consumers had a significantly lower intake of important nutrients like protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, vitamin A, niacin, and vitamin C compared with non-consumers. Those who ate instant noodles also had an excessive intake of energy, unhealthy fats and sodium. It does not mean that consuming instant noodles may kill you but when you are substituting it with the real foods it only that health problem may develop.
So, consumed low instant noodles especially women's so that they can be save from such diseases cause by instant noodles.
