Where to Find the Best Easter Egg Hunts in the Dallas Area

It's almost time for Peter Cottontail to go hop-hop-hopping down the Bunny Trail. In 2014, Easter is Sunday, April 20. Bedford Easter Egg Celebration (April 12)

The City of Bedford is hosting its annual Easter Egg Celebration with over 10,000 eggs. The egg hunt is for ages 10 and under. Pre-registration is required. Registration fee includes an arts & craft project, a picture with the Easter Bunny, a snack and an easter egg hunt that will include over 10,000 eggs! and the fee is $5 per child. Areas marked off for different age groups.

Coppell EGGstravaganza (April 19)

EGGstravaganza, Egg hunt. Event starts at 10 am but the hunt starts at noon sharp. Ages 10 and under. This event is free. Don't forget your cameras and to arrive early; once the hunt begins, it doesn't take long for all the goodies to be snatched up!

Dallas Arboretum (April 18-20)

With the extension of Dallas Blooms through Easter, the Dallas Arboretum has planned a weekend of activities including music, festive treats, children's activities and a garden full of floral backdrops perfect for those Easter photos.

Eddie Coker Children's Concert, Friday, April 18 | 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. | Martin Rutchik Concert Lawn. Children's activities will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Pecan Grove and include face painting, a petting zoo and Easter portraits with a live bunny.

Children's activities include face painting, a petting zoo and Easter portraits with a live bunny. To add to the festivities, there are also children's games including an egg/spoon race, egg toss and a three-legged race. A roving bunny rabbit in costume makes the rounds in the garden for photos.

On Saturday and Sunday, guests can relax on the lawn near the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and listen to the music being played.

Denton (April 19)

The Free Easter Eggstravaganza is a fun, traditional Easter experience for toddlers-grade 5. Events begin at 9:30 a.m. with a bounce house, tons of arts and crafts, and a fun magic show at 10:45 a.m. The Easter Bunny will also be available for pictures for $2 per kid.


At 11:30 a.m. the Easter Egg Hunt begins and kids can run through Quakertown Park to hunt for over 21,000 Easter Eggs filled with goodies. Kids are divided into groups based on age and grades; please arrive early to find the designated group in the park.

What: Hunt for 70,000 eggs at Toyota Soccer Field

When: Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 1-4; Egg Hunt at 2 p.m.

Grapevine: Ride the Train with the Easter Bunny (April 12)

Take a trip to the farm this spring for the 39th annual annual egg hunt. Mr. and Miss Bunny will be hiding thousands of eggs at Nash Farm for a hopping good time.


Special prize eggs will be hidden in each age division. Enjoy face painters and other activities such as bounce houses, a petting zoo, hay rides and more. There will be five different hunts by age division. Bring your camera for some great photo opportunities.

Grapevine: Scuba Bunny at Sea Life Aquarium

Scuba Bunny hops to the bottom of the ocean tank to hide eggs for a SEA LIFE diver to find. Kids are encouraged to help point the diver in the right direction. Scheduled dives occur at 11 a.m. on April 12, 16 and 19, 2014. Other Easter-themed activities include a special aquarium-wide scavenger hunt for eggs hidden in various tanks.
