- 1). Take high school courses such as science, biology and health. Develop strong reading and communication skills. Get your high school diploma or GED.
- 2). Enroll in a phlebotomy training program accredited by National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). As of early 2010, the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) offers the only accredited phlebotomy program in Milwaukee. Contact MATC at 414-297-6282 for enrollment information.
- 3). Participate in the clinical rotation program sponsored by MATC. During your training, you will gain hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment. The MATC faculty will choose the clinical site for your laboratory training.
- 4). Take advantage of the job placement resources available at MATC. Search current job listings by visiting MATC.edu (see References).
