Man Dies in Fort Lauderdale Motorcycle Accident
Because of a motorcycle rider's increased vulnerability, a motorcycle accident can result in catastrophic injuries or even death for the rider. In the recent accident, a motorcycle rider was waiting to make a left hand turn and another driver was waiting to go forward in the opposing lane. Witnesses at the scene of the accident offered varying testimony as to who had the right-of-way when both the vehicle and the motorcycle entered the intersection at the same time. According to police reports, the motorcycle rider laid down his bike to avoid the accident, but was hit by the car as he and his motorcycle skidded across the road.
Emergency crews were quick to arrive on the accident scene and promptly transported the motorcycle rider to Broward Health Medical Center. However, his injuries were too serious for him to survive and he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigators were still trying to determine who was at fault for the accident and could not confirm whether or not any charges would be forthcoming.
