How to Router Trim Plastic

    • 1). Ensure the adhesive holding the laminate to the workpiece has dried thoroughly. Clean the surface of the plastic to remove any excess adhesive.

    • 2). Insert a flush-trim bit into the router's collet and tighten securely. Adjust the bit-depth setting so that the bit's bearing sits approximately at the middle of the exposed edge.

    • 3). Place the baseplate of the router on the plastic laminate surface with the bit a short distance from the exposed edge, parallel to the edge of the MDF core.

    • 4). Turn on the router and gently press the bit into the overlapping edge of the sheet. Move the router left along the edge to trim the entire edge. Repeat on other edges if needed.
