Should I Give My Dog Ice Water?
For a healthy adult dog, a few ice cubes or a bowl of cold water on a warm day is usually fine and can encourage drinking. However, ice water is not a treatment for heatstroke and may be risky for dogs prone to bloat, sensitive stomachs, or very young or old dogs. The safest approach is to offer cold water in moderation, watch how your dog reacts, and consult your veterinarian if your dog has health concerns or shows signs of overheating.
