Should I Paint The Ceiling First Or The Walls?
In most standard interior repaints where both surfaces need color, the ceiling should be painted before the walls. This sequence lets roller spatter and accidental drips fall on walls that will be covered later, and it keeps the top edge of the wall paint looking clean. If only the walls or only the ceiling is changing, start with the surface that is being painted. Always factor in surface condition, paint sheen, drying time, ladder safety, and your own skill level before committing to an order.
